Description

Offered is an impressive 132-card uncut proof sheet for the second and third series of the 1966 Topps baseball issue. The premise behind proof sheets was to make any and all corrections prior to the final printing and this sheet depicts that axiom as both of the checklists that appear were changed in subsequent processing. The Series 2 checklist lists #115 as Warren Spahn (the tougher of the two variations) instead of Bill Henry. This item has outstanding visual appeal and is loaded with Hall of Famers, many in duplicate. Players of interest are Whitey Ford (2), Ernie Banks (2), Lou Brock (2), Walter Alston, Rocky Colavito (2), Harmon Killebrew, Joe Morgan, Orlando Cepeda, and the Jim Palmer rookie card. There is blue and red ink spatter on the left border and a minute tear in the upper left (Hector Lopez). A majestic piece measuring approximately 28 x 44, overall grade EX.
