Pete Maravich was a skinny white guard from LSU, he was a Harlem Globetrotter in skill and spirit if not in uniform. Passes flew behind his back, over his shoulder, or with his eyes looking one way and the ball heading another. His deft dribble often twisted defenders onto their heels, the ball flashing smoothly between his legs, behind his back and through tight openings. Shots came from all angles and distances. Playing for three teams in his 10-year career, “Pistol” Pete could not capture a NBA championship, known more for his record-breaking college career, Pete broke records like Evil Knievel broke bones. Offered is a personal check signed by Pete Maravich for $3,000 to Cindy Van Gorder dated Jan. 23, 1987. Penned boldly Pete Maravich in blue ink; this rare check comes with a LOA from his wife, signed Jackie Maravich and COA from James Spence Authentication.
