Offered is a vintage pair of Shibe Park / Connie Mack Stadium freestanding seats. The most palatial of all the majestic old ballfields, Shibe Park opened in 1909 and housed the Philadelphia Athletics with Connie Mack at the helm. The A’s loved their new park and over the next 23 seasons used the home field to their advantage, winning five of the seven World Series in which they played. The Phillies stared playing games there in 1938 and by the 1950s, the Athletics moved out and the stadium’s name was changed to Connie Mack in honor of the man that managed for 50 seasons in Philadelphia. The seats show the totality of this history, with red paint covering over the original green. This pair of splendid seats has iron-sculpted designs on the ends and displays the wear consistent with the harsh weather in Philadelphia. The left seat is slightly bent forward and the seat numbers are 14 and 15. The overall measurements are 33” tall by 38” wide by 20” deep. Due to size/weight of this lot, the shipping may be substantial.
