By 1941, Ted Williams and Joe DiMaggio had replaced Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig in the hearts and minds of the everyday baseball fan. Each man had become a pillar of society and had two of the sweetest swings that ever came along in baseball. Offered are three of the most desirable Play Ball cards, including two Joe DiMaggio's and one Ted Williams. The 1939 Play Ball is a simple black & white portrait and the classic off-kilter smile of DiMaggio barely hides the horizontal crease though the middle of the card. Still this G-VG example of one of the earliest DiMaggio cards is a great addition to any collection. The 1941 Play Ball #71 DiMaggio also has a few light creases and grades G-VG. The 1941 Play Ball #14 Ted Williams still has brilliant color and sharp edges but the only problem lies on the reverse where the card was apparently attached to an album and this card incurred a few glue marks. Overall these key cards are worth the time and bids to get them into your collection.
