Presented is a rare splendid sepia tone image of the 1929 World Champion Philadelphia Athletics. This original panoramic photograph features twenty-eight players and coaches, including HOFers Connie Mack, Jimmie Foxx, Lefty Grove, Mickey Cochrane, Eddie Collins and Al Simmons. Along the upper right portion of this picture is “Philadelphia Athletics – American League Pennant Winners, 1929,” apparently this produced prior to their four games to one victory over the Chicago Cubs in the 1929 World Series. The overall measurements are 8” x 31 ½” with minimal aggregate wear on the surface. There is a small one-inch tear in the lower right and a 4” crease on the far right edge; both could be easily restored. Overall grade is VG-EX, which is excellent for a piece that is seldom seen in presentable condition and this photograph remains unaltered from its original state.
