A truly historical moment in baseball history was July 12, 1949 at Ebbets Field in Brooklyn at the 1949 All-Star game. This game marked the first appearance in any All-Star game history that African American players were in contest. Jackie Robinson, Roy Campanella, Don Newcombe and Larry Doby were the pioneers. The game ended with a thrilling 11-7 victory for the American League, led by Joe DiMaggio. The offered program has remained in very eye appealing condition with all interior pages still firmly attached to the two-staple spine, showing no writing (even on the scorecard), markings or clippings. The interior grades a solid EX-MT to NM, with just some minor corner wear. The cover shows some toning and very minor creasing, mostly at the spine and on the bottom right corner. There is a lightened area in the bottom right corner. The program grades a solid EX to EX-MT with a picture of virtually every player from this tremendous game.
