In 1961, the American League followed the prosperous National League to California by adding the Los Angeles Angels to their ranks. Playing alongside the Dodgers at Chavez Ravine, the Angels were slow to gain fans that had been loyal to the Dodgers since the arrival of baseball in 1958 making early Angels’ memorabilia quite difficult to find. Offered in this lot are two vintage items chronicling the nomadic Angels, a May 5, 1962 Angel scorecard from Bo Bleinsky’s no-hitter (the first in Angels’ history) and a vintage 1960s green-base bobbing head doll. An excited fan that sat through the historic game amateurly scored the VG-EX scorecard. The 6 ˝" bobbing head doll has a halo-topped, blank cap, a Angels' transfer sticker across the chest with half-inch chip missing from the back of the head. The little Angel seems to be nodding to the heavens as if he knows something the rest of us do not.
