In 1961, Peters Meats issued this now elusive twenty-six card set for the inaugural season of the Minnesota Twins. This quality set, as with many of the baseball card sets issued in meat produces, has become very desirable and difficult to find in high grade. The set features one Hall of Fame player, Harmon Killebrew and one future MVP winner, Zoilo Versalles. The cards were printed on a thick waxy cardboard and issued in packages of the Peters meat products. Each card features a glorious color photo of the respective player alongside of a short biographical review and have a blank reverse. It was common for many of these cards to be cut or trimmed because the edges usually came out of the packaging stained; none of these cards are cut and all remain in EX-MT condition.
