An unassuming nineteen-year-old kid made his World Series debut as the starting left fielder for the Atlanta Braves in 1996 and he started things off with a bang. The kid was Andruw Jones and all he did was hit long home runs in his first two World Series at-bats in the cathedral of baseball that is Yankee Stadium. The kid showed the ghosts of Ruth, Mantle, and Gehrig that he was for real. Since the huge splash Jones made in the Fall Classic, all he has done is win seven straight Gold Gloves, while averaging 31 homeruns and nearly 100 RBIs a season. This beautiful Atlanta Braves home jersey was worn by Jones during a game in the 2000 season and exhibits all the proper patches and lettering. The Russell Athletic size “46” uniform features an applied 2000 All-Star game patch that was played at Turner Field in Atlanta. The jersey is in excellent condition with minor soiling around the neck region and Jones’ personal altercations to the underside of the sleeves. A 4 ˝” section of the underarm stitching has been removed for greater mobility, making it easier for Andruw to make his sensational catches.
