Description

From across the Atlantic Ocean, striking cords of such splendor and beauty as to mesmerize an entire generation, came four lads from Liverpool who forever changed the face of rock 'n roll. The Beatles brandished a style of music that was right for the 1960s, a decade of both turmoil and triumph, as their 1965 American tour shattered attendance records. Even John Lennon, the driving force behind the Beatles and most beloved of the group, could not have foreseen that the band he had formed in 1957 would have on the music industry and history. The great John Lennon is featured in this three-piece collection of home photographs. Each picture has a story to tell and none greater than the picture of Lennon flanked by the two people closest to him, Yoko Ono and Paul McCartney. The image of this trio is dated October 1968 and is in wonderful condition with the single exception of a small tear on the base of the photograph. The second picture in this lot, dated March 1968, gives a glimpse of Lennon as a father, with his young son Julian by his side. The father and son shot is maybe the most rare of all the candid photos and remains in remarkable condition with only a small nick in the upper right corner and a printed stamp on the reverse. The last picture is an absolutely enjoyable shot of Lennon standing in the driveway on a sunny afternoon and it is in as near to perfect condition as a collector could hope. These unique 3 square photographs are a true and paramount pieces of 20th Century history and the importance of the Beatles cannot be understated.
